The Just Jen Story
It all started with a gift.
The beginning of Just Jen started with a rhinestone shirt that Just Jen founder, Jennifer Smith, received for her daughter. Everywhere mother and daughter went, friends and strangers asked about the shirt. Where did she get it? How much did it cost? How could they get one?
Jennifer learned how to make rhinestone shirts and began giving them as gifts to her friends. The shirt designs evolved from simple names to more complex designs. Her friends and family loved the shirts and some began to ask her if they could buy a custom design.
The Just Jen website was borne in late 2003. With the help of her husband, Jennifer built and launched the site and slowly customers started finding her online. At first orders were slow, but customers were always so delighted that they spread word of mouth…and more people showed up.
As the Just Jen website grew, it expanded from just 20 shirts to over 400 designs and counting. Bridal shirts were added, Sorority shirts and Las Vegas shirts came next. Soon Just Jen had the largest selection of unique rhinestone shirts available online.
Just Jen has now also expanded into rhinestone embellishments on Bridal Sweat Suits, Custom Hoodies, Rhinestone Cake Toppers and a whole host of other products are still coming.
In August of 2004 Just Jen had a brush with fame. A customer of Just Jen ordered a shirt that said, “Soon to be Mrs. Reynolds”. A few weeks later, a friend called and told Jennifer to turn on The View. There was Star Jones, one of the hosts of the show, with her Just Jen rhinestone shirt. Star Jones even talked about the shirt on the show. Since that time Just Jen products have been worn by celebrities including Bethenney Frankel, Jada Pinkett Smith, and seen on The Today Show, Bethenney Getting Married, Oprah Winfrey Show, The Bachelor Wedding: Jason and Molly, along with several news shows in local markets.
Today, Just Jen continues to sell rhinestone shirts online, but the business has expanded to retail stores and custom design work for organizations. Just Jen has created unique designs for hotel chains, bridal shops, hair salons, dance clubs and many more. There are as many different needs for rhinestone shirts as there are people in the world.
